MENDEL COULOIR - AUG 1975 / AUG 1975

We must of had a map, so we knew where Mendel was. That's about all we knew. After a night at Midnight Lake we regrouped and moved up to Hell Diver / Blue Heaven Lakes. Next morning we found the obvious crossing of the divide which put us right where we wanted to be. Plenty of snow and ice as conditions were quite good for late August. East side seemed like the only way off the peak once we'd topped out. A day later we were out and headed for the Valley to do the Nose.
