Every easterner with alpine aspirations has heard of the BIC. Mark and I were as eager as the next guy. We also knew John Bragg who was guiding for Exum that summer. Feeling rather small, we humbly approached the whole lot of them at dinner one night to ask for help. John gave us enough beta to find the Vahalla Traverse and West Face approach.
