There is probably a reasonable way to descend the east face, but not being the master of the obvious, I choose instead to descend the north couloir - thus committing myself to a whole lot more time and distance on this particular day. But, it was a grand tour and having wanted to see the 4th recess for some time, a trip I was glad I made.
