West Face - Straight Chimney - 1982

Reading the guide book then and the newer books today, I'm still not sure I recognize the route I did. I do recall the chimney being clean, solid and interesting. How long it went on I don't know. Perhaps the biggest unknown was how to get off. My old maps seem to indicate I dropped down on the southeast side (East Fork Valley) and traversed back around to the west until I could see my way down to camp at the Bonneville Lakes. I walked by this side of the mountain in 2000 w/ Betsy and couldn't recognize any features from 18 years before.

This climb is part of a larger album. If you wish, you can Open the full album
