In between the few backcountry adventures of 2023 I spent a fair amount of time on the road looping thru my favorite scenic regions, hoping each time for dramatic lighting and better than last time views. In Wyoming that mean various loop around the Tetons and Wind River Range, complimented by numerous crossing of Beartooth Pass into Montana. While in Montana I revisited Glacier Nat Park having not been there since 1975. Going to the Sun road is pretty impressive, but it's an old narrow road that is inundated with too many tourists mostly because well, it's a National Park. For my money Dead Indian Pass to Beartooth Pass is the finest alpine drive in the USA. Second place goes to White Mt / Bristlecone Hwy with it's amazing Sierra View vista - best done at sunrise in the spring when the High Sierra is still covered in winter snows.
